Will the war be over by Christmas?

As the war moves into 1945 the lives of the women of Woolworths continue. When store manager, Betty Billington, announces she is expecting Douglas’s baby her future life is about to change more than she expects.

Freda has fallen in love with the handsome Scottish engineer but will it end happily?

Maisie loves being a mother and also caring for her two nieces although she still has her own dreams. When her brother appears on the scene he brings unexpected danger to the family.

Meanwhile Sarah dreams of her husband’s return and a cottage with roses around the door but Woolworths beckons.

Will our girls sail into times of peace, or will they experience more heartache and sorrow? With a wedding on the horizon, surely only happiness lies ahead – or does it?

My Thoughts

So you should be able to remember Woolworths, it was the shop of dreams when I was little, so I was very excited to read this because it takes you back to that shop, especially around Christmas. This book was set in the war time and revolves are the girls that work there, and what is going on with there lives! It’s such a cosy read, it’s lovely as it’s a follow on as well so reading a new one is like catching up with everyone and I love that! My grandma has read the previous ones too and she loved them, so I’m going to lending this one to her so she can read and catch up also! They’re the kind of books that absolutely any age will love! I highly encourage you to pick the first one up and give it a read, you’ll not regret it! Purchase the book from Amazon ~here~!

Thank you to Faye and Elaine for having me as part of this tour,

Malcolm has had a lifetime filled with exciting encounters with animals. As a lad in Nigeria, he’s attacked by soldier ants and terrified by a snake in his treehouse. His treasured companion, Poucher, an African Bush dog, prevents him and his mother from being savaged by baboons. Once qualified as a vet Malcolm has to attempt life-saving surgery on his beloved parrot. On a road trip across the Sahara, there is a tussle with a lame camel and the operation on an Ostrich gored by an antelope. Settling back in West Sussex, he tackles a cow that’s got stuck in a tree, wily cats and battles with cunning badgers and baby bats. He shares all these fascinating experiences in this gently humorous memoir that will guarantee to tug at the heart strings while bringing a smile to your face.  Anyone who loves animals will be enchanted and enthralled.

live life ready with kalms

Today I want to chat anxiety, although 1 in 5 people suffer from it and struggle daily, not enough people really understand it at all, it’s so so important that it becomes an easy topic of conversation so people aren’t left feeling alone, if you are reading this and feeling like that please reach out to someone, anyone, even me!

I’ve teamed up with Kalms to chat all things anxiety and show you some of their very own lavender capsules that are specifically designed to help you cope with your anxiety! I also have a little giveaway which I’ll chat more about towards the end..

So if you don’t know much about Kalms themselves, I’ll tell you a little bit about them. They have a range of herbal tablets that help anxiety, stress, struggles with sleeping. They also have masses of information like the info you’ll see below, all about the different topics so head over to there website for a look, ~here~!

So anxiety can be brought on by various different things in our lives, some of those are losing someone close to you, feeling lonely, work stress, financial problems, over worrying, childhood experiences, and many more. The photo below has some great facts on about anxiety, and also shares some of the physical feelings and things you think about if you’re struggling with anxiety.

Now I do myself suffer with anxiety, it very much goes up and down, I’ve had some massively hard times, but I’m not going to nitty gritty into my personal experience as it’s still very much something I’m trying to learn to get better with, but I’m sure one day I can share it all!

Kalms themselves have a new product for us suffering with anxiety in the form of a one-a-day lavender capsule! This is a very new discovery for the UK, also the results of 15 clinical trials have shown that these capsules can relive the symptoms of anxiety.

So there we have the capsules pictured above, these are a traditional herbal product as I said that relive the symptoms of anxiety. Within the pack you get a 2 weeks supply, which you take one a day. I find for me lavender is very calming, so these do wonders. You can buy them in most stores and pharmacies, here’s a lil link to purchase them ~here~!

So the giveawaaay WOO! I am giving away a Kalms mindfulness journal & pen, plus Fearne Cotton’s Calm book (which I have & LOVE!) All you have to do to enter this giveaway is leave a comment saying how YOU are going to raise awareness of anxiety and use the #LiveLifeReady? E.g ‘Talk to your friends to make sure they’re ok #LifeLifeReady’. GOOD LUCK 🙂 *the winner will be chosen & contacted on the 17/11/2018*.

the curve fashion festival

I am a huge fashion fan and when I heard about this festival it just sounded amazing, especially that it’s for curvy fashion?! Thankfully nowadays we live in a world with curvy models, and thin models, any models, all sizes and shapes. But this festival of all things curvy fashion has now hit it’s fourth year, and I have some exciting things to tell you about it!

So where is it at & when you ask? Well Liverpool, it will be held in St Georges Place, Liverpool, which is great! There’s plenty of different ways of getting there, and it’s pretty easy to find. I’ll link the page ~here~ so you can see the venue for yourself and find out how to get there. The date it’s on is the 17th November 2018 and you can buy your tickets ~here~!

What is there to do there you ask? So you can of course watch the catwalk, you can meet some celeb guests, you can chat and buy from the brilliant well known brands that will be there, such as ; BooHoo, M&S, New Look & Debenhams.

So as I just mentioned Debenhams will be there, last year they were promoting their beauty range, which is AMAZING, I’ve always headed to Debenhams when I need some beauty bits because they have such a huge variety, something for literally everyone, and they have points systems and always fab offers! So I defiantly wish I’d been there last year looking through all their beauty bits! Have a lil browse of the makeup range they have ~here~!

But this year Debenhams will be back of course talking all things lingerie, how fab!? Sometimes it’s hard to find lingerie that fits well and it can feel awkward to get measured but at the TCFF everyone will be there to help and make you feel at ease! They have an absolute huge range, which is important because for me generally it can be hard to find bras that are comfy for larger boobs! Have a lil browse at the lingerie collection they have ~here~!
